May they lead us in singing songs that celebrate the beauty of the Savior and sing of Your wonders, Your glory, Your triumphs, Your holiness, Your majesty and Your great gospel. There have been times when I told the truth only because I believed it was expedient to do so. And somehow that seems just right. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. As we start today, guide us through according to your will. It is in the name of the one true and everlasting God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit that we pray. Remember all prisoners, and bring the guilty to repentance and amendment of life according to your will, and give them hope for their future.
Let us be refreshed in you and let us look forward to the next gathering with enthusiasm because of what you'll do today. For the brave and courageous, who are patient in suffering and faithful in adversity, People: We thank you, Lord. You have marked every motive that curdled something sweet within me. Hear this our prayer and grant that we may confidently expect to see it answered in our time, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. In your presence, oh Lord, there is fullness of joy, fill us with your overwhelming joy.
Grant that I may serve You by serving others. In your name, who alone can give us moderation and balance and zest for living, we pray. We ask for your blessing on children and young people everywhere and for all who care for them. And at the end of today's service let us be filled from your presence. May they have the courage to lead the people of this Republic, considering unworthy the expediency of following the people. But I sense that withdrawal and the effort to dull my feelings is not the way toward healing. Help us to eliminate our cruelty to these our neighbors.
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. We know not how to express the deepest emotions that lie hidden in our hearts. May the preaching be God centered, cross centered and gospel centered. Francis of Assisi : Special Times and Days For Christmas O God, you have caused this holy night to shine with the illumination of the true Light. As we draw near to you in thought, our spirits long for your Spirit, and reach out for you, longing to feel you near.
Go with us lord and make our gathering today successful. God of hope, whose promise sustains us, and power upholds us, we praise your holy name. Make our praises and worship accepted in thy sight. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. You were willing to go to the Cross so that humanity might forever be haunted by its sign, might return to the foot of that Cross to be melted and broken down in the knowledge of Your love for us and all people everywhere. Morning Prayer The world turns, The sun rises, The birds sing, The dawn breaks. We would not make our prayers the importuning of you, an omnipotent God, to do what we want you to do.
Shine Your Light Father Holy Lord, you are worthy of our praises. God of all ages Accept our sacrifice of praise Eternal God, it was your love that birthed humankind, and placed them in a garden. Establish us a peculiar nation for your name and let people see your glory in our lives forever. Forgive them for the blunders they have committed, the compromises they have made. Before such mystery we kneel, as we follow the shepherds and Wise Men to bring You the gift of our love — a love we confess has not always been as warm or sincere or real as it should have been. Make us aware that we are meeting not simply with one another, but with you.
For All Sorts and Conditions of Men O God, the creator and preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech you for all sorts and conditions of men; that you would be pleased to make your ways known unto them, your saving health unto all nations. It always seem much too short. To the President and members of the Cabinet, to Governors of States, Mayors of Cities, and to all in administrative authority, grant wisdom and grace in exercise of their duties. We give you thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord, who by his life, death and resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. May our worship be a sweet and fragrant offering to You. Grant us, we pray, that as we have known the mystery of that Light upon earth, so may we also reflect that light to a darkened world; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Bring us to both humility and boldness.
These are normal people to whom God gives supernatural strength for the demonstration of his power and the proclamation of his good news. This morning give us a hart to praise you our God and father. For those in marriage near divorce, for those of us whose loved ones are very sick, for those whose emotions have been deeply wounded by those that we dearly love, for those of us needing money and seeking employment to where we believe you have called us, for those of us who need to express our deep personal emotions - let us be near you now. I have sought the spotlight, yet am not big enough to stand in it. At the end of today, let this be the best gathering we have ever attended in Jesus name. Strengthen him when he stands; comfort him when discouraged or sorrowful; raise him up if he falls; and in his heart may your peace which passes understanding abide all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. This misgiving still remains today in many areas.
Remind us that the gathering of Your people to worship is something You have ordained for us. We come unto your tabernacle with praise and thanksgiving, accept it oh lord in Jesus name. Inspire us as we learn more about your majestic ways. We then thank him for what he has done for us, and this inevitably reminds us that we really do not deserve his mercy and grace. We are rich compared to so many in the world and yet we often lack generosity to the poor. For the Gift of a Child Heavenly Father, you sent your own Son into this world. For my own conduct and for that of my students, grant me the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and piety, the spirit of holy fear of you, and an ardent zeal to procure your glory.
